TIRANA, December 20/ATA/ For the first time in the areas of Fushë-Kruja and Shkodra, there is being used an agricultural drone to monitor the crops.
Prime Minister Edi Rama highlighted today in the social media this innovation that is being used in agriculture, empowering the farmers.
Rama emphasized that the drone helps the farmers providing information on the plant health and more efficient use of inputs, reducing costs, increasing yield and quality of production.
This drone, according to him, will serve farmers and the Agricultural Technology Transfer Centers in Fushë-Krujë and Shkodra.
“Smart agriculture is part of our vision Agriculture 2030, for a more sustainable and competitive sector, in accordance with European Union standards,” wrote Rama.
Smart agriculture is still a new notion for our country, but it is seen with great interest by agricultural enterprises interested in adoption of advanced technologies to optimize and improve sustainability in agricultural production.
Elements of precision agriculture have begun to be applied in Albania. The farmers are already using GPS and satellite imagery for agricultural land mapping and personalized land surface treatment.
