Taranto, 1 December 2025 – In Portimão, the delegation of the Taranto 2026 Organizing Committee presented to the 26 member countries of the ICMG the current state of progress, providing an overview of the activities underway across the main operational areas.
Led by Director General Carlo Molfetta, the delegation provided a detailed overview of the progress achieved so far. Venues, logistics, services, hospitality, sport operations, media operations: a comprehensive picture that confirms the commitment of the Italian team to meeting deadlines and delivering an organization aligned with the highest international standards.
Special attention was dedicated to the Safeguarding Programme, one of the pillars of the Games’ governance, developed according to the standards of the Olympic Movement to ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.
The Executive Committee acknowledged the results already achieved by Taranto 2026, highlighting the quality of the work carried out. At the same time, it encouraged a faster definition of the organizational aspects that are still under discussion, in order to guarantee full compliance with international timelines and the overall efficiency of the preparation process.
The meetings took place in a positive, constructive, and results-oriented atmosphere, with all parties committed to strengthening a solid, transparent preparation aligned with the best global practices.
At the end of the discussions, the Organizing Committee expressed great satisfaction with the exchange with the ICMG and reaffirmed its determination to further intensify its efforts in view of the 2026 Games.
