ATA - INSTAT: Albania records over 7 million foreign arrivals in seven months, nearly 2 million in July

TIRANA, Aug 25 /ATA/ Albania continues to see an increase in foreign arrivals, with nearly 2 million entries recorded in July 2026 alone.

According to INSTAT data, 1,955,099 foreign nationals entered Albania in July, up 7.1% from 1,825,490 entries recorded in the same month a year earlier.

The upward trend was also reflected in figures for the first seven months of the year. From January through July 2026, Albania recorded 7,014,168 entries by foreign nationals, up 6.5% from the same period last year.

European countries remained the main source of foreign visitors, accounting for 1,833,396 entries in July. Southern Europe made up the largest share, with 1,178,557 arrivals.

This was followed by Central and Eastern Europe with 231,450 entries, Western Europe with 224,975, and Northern Europe with 132,728.

The figures also point to a diversification of Albania’s tourism markets. In July, the country recorded 67,928 entries from the Americas, 16,723 from East Asia and the Pacific, 9,041 from Africa and 6,487 from South Asia.

According to INSTAT, 99% of foreign entries in July were for personal purposes, up 7.3% from the same month in 2025. Meanwhile, entries for business and professional purposes fell by 8.9%.

A total of 2,826,615 Albanian and foreign nationals entered the country in July, up 6.1% from a year earlier. The continued increase in foreign visitor numbers remains one of the key indicators of the performance of Albania’s 2026 tourism season.
