APS - National unity, solid foundation for safeguarding homeland (El Djeich)

ALGIERS, 08 November 2025 (APS) - National unity is the cornerstone and guarantee for preserving the homeland and strengthening its security, stability and progress, El-Djeïch magazine emphasized in its November edition.

In its editorial titled "Our Unity, Source of Our Strength," El-Djeïch noted that "our country's history is filled with shining landmarks and memorable achievements that brought glory and pride to Algeria and shaped its future."

The magazine highlighted one of these defining moments which was the outbreak of the glorious Liberation Revolution on November 1, 1954, now marking its 71st anniversary, described as an "eternal epic written in golden letters by the fighting Algerian people which will remain forever etched in human history as one of the greatest liberation revolutions whose impact echoed worldwide."

It is a Revolution led by the Algerian people whose "bravery, genius, faith in their just cause, their unwavering determination to sacrifice everything to reclaim national sovereignty and secure freedom and independence became their greatest weapon to carry the fight through to the end."

"God blessed our country with men, true patriots who sacrificed what they had most dear for the homeland, whose heroic deeds and achievements earned them eternal remembrance across generations," the magazine added.

The publication goes on to ask, "How could it be otherwise for these children of November, who reignited freedom's flame, a flame that never extinguished from the days of Emir Abdelkader until the outbreak of the Liberation Revolution, passing through various uprisings, popular resistance movements, and political struggle under aegis of the national movement."

"So many generations wrote History with their own hands, shaped it to their desire and subjected it to their will and their aspirations, paving the way for a brighter future, not just for themselves, but for all peoples suffering under occupation, oppression, repression, exploitation, and humiliation," the source added.

It recalled how the Algerian people had to "stand up to the arrogance and tyranny of a savage occupier who used every despicable means to keep them under the yoke of humiliation, submission and oppression, through torture, assassinations, kidnappings, disappearances, committing war crimes and crimes against humanity that remain unforgivable and can never be erased by time."

"As we celebrate this occasion dear to our hearts, it gives us an opportunity not only to honor the values, principles, and noble qualities of our glorious ancestors and take pride in their achievements, but also to preserve their legacy and follow their path. We must remember that they achieved victory only by strengthening their unity, cohesion, and solidarity around a single goal: recovering national sovereignty," the magazine said.

"These are the very values all Algerians uphold and defend today," the editorial observed, pointing to "their strong turnout and massive participation in the nationwide reforestation campaign on October 25" as evidence.

These initiatives constitute an "eminently significant" message to the entire world, and which says: "we are one body and one heart, our unity cements our foundations and strengthens our determination to move forward to build a victorious, strong, prosperous and secure new Algeria. This is especially vital given the regional and international tensions, the visible and hidden conspiracies targeting our country, and the malicious schemes aimed at undermining our nation's security, stability, and our people's peace."

In this regard, President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Commander-in- Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, emphasized that "on this 71st anniversary of the glorious Liberation Revolution, as we proudly celebrate the glorious achievements of generations who waged relentless struggles across Algeria, we honor their sacrifices as a wellspring of unwavering resolve and collective consciousness rooted in our glorious history, the compass that guides us," the editorial underlined.
