TIRANA, Nov 6 /ATA/ The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, attended the presentation of FIAA’s report, “Business Environment in Albania 2025,” underscoring its significance as a strategic roadmap for enhancing public policy formulation and fostering constructive dialogue with the private sector.
Ibrahimaj highlighted the progress achieved in several areas, including the transparency of government procedures, relations with the tax administration, the streamlining of licensing and permit processes, public procurement, as well as the political climate and the enforcement of the law.
She also pointed out the persistent challenges, such as bureaucracy, corruption, informality, the shortage of skilled labor, and issues related to property registration.
Minister Ibrahimaj underscored the importance of fostering government–business collaboration to improve the business environment and maximize opportunities within the European Single Market, prioritizing standards, legislation, and policies that boost the competitiveness of Albanian enterprises.
“We need to work together on key issues, especially the standards that the business community must meet to fully capitalize on the opportunities offered by the European Single Market. My priority is to engage with businesses to strengthen their understanding of relevant policies and legislation, with the goal of aligning standards and enhancing the competitiveness of Albanian enterprises within the European Single Market,” Ibrahimaj stated.
The FIAA report highlights significant progress by businesses in key areas, including procedural transparency (+16 points), engagement with the tax administration (+9 points), and the streamlining of licenses and permits (+10 points). However, the Minister stressed that issues such as bureaucracy, corruption, informality, and the lack of skilled labor continue to be top priorities on the government’s agenda.
