Lisbon, Nov. 5, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Wednesday, with the PSI index rising 0.69% to 8,484.01 points, following the trend in the rest of Europe.
Of the 16 companies listed on the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), 13 rose and three fell.
Leading the gains was civil engineering and construction group, Teixeira Duarte, which rose 2.65% to €0.70.
On Tuesday, Teixeira Duarte concluded a refinancing agreement with the banks, with the delivery of shares in five commercial companies converted into collective real estate investment companies.
In its note to the market, the company indicated that its wholly-owned subsidiaries Teixeira Duarte - Gestão de Participações e Investimentos Imobiliários and IMOTD - Sociedade Gestora de Participações Sociais, formalised with Banco Comercial Português, Caixa Geral de Depósitos and Novo Banco the "delivery of shares representing part of the share capital of five commercial companies previously converted into collective real estate investment companies".
The group noted that this transaction, already provided for in the refinancing agreement signed and announced to the market on 27 March between the wholly-owned subsidiary EI01 - Empresa de Serviços Intragrupo and the banks, "generates a loss of €2.7 million in the group's accounts and allows the Teixeira Duarte Group to settle its debt to the banks, amounting to €78.3 million".
Also noteworthy in today's session were CTT, which rose 2.11% to €7.26, Mota-Engil, which rose 1.12% to €5.86, REN, which rose 1.06% to €3.35, and Sonae SGPS, which rose 1% to €1.41.
CTT expects to grow to become the Iberian leader in e-commerce logistics, in line with its 2026-28 strategy, and will intensify its core investment during this period, the postal service announced on Tuesday in a statement.
CTT's investment (Capex) in the 2026-28 three-year period is expected to reach €50-55 million per year, which includes increasing capacity across the Iberian Peninsula.
CTT also intends to accelerate the growth and profitability of Banco CTT and forecasts an investment of between €15 and €18 million per year for the 2026-28 three-year period.
Gains of less than 1% were recorded by Navigator (€3.04), EDP Renováveis (€13.05), Galp (€17.74), Jerónimo Martins (€22.14), EDP (€4.39), Ibersol (€10.10), BCP (€0.77) and Altri (€4.90).
In the opposite direction, Corticeira Amorim led the declines, falling 1.74% to €6.77.
Semapa (€17.82) and NOS (€3.67) fell by less than 1%.
Elsewhere in Europe, the main indexes in London rose 0.64%, Frankfurt 0.42%, Madrid 0.39% and Paris 0.08%.
