Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stocks close lower with Corticeira Amorim diving 5.87%

Lisbon, Nov. 4, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed down on Tuesday, falling 0.24% to 8,425.88 points, with Corticeira Amorim losing 5.87% after the company's results were released after the market closed on Monday.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the PSI index, six rose, nine fell and Ibersol remained unchanged at €10.05.

Corticeira Amorim led the declines, closing the session at €6.89 per share. In the first nine months of the year, the company recorded a net profit of €45.7 million, a reduction of 4.5% year-on-year, it announced in a statement published by the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM). All the business units "recorded a reduction in sales", he added.

This was followed by Mota-Engil, which fell 1.61% to €5.80 and Teixeira Duarte, with a drop of 1.45% to €0.68. The construction company announced on Monday that it had finalised its refinancing agreement with the banks.

Also down were NOS (1.34% to €3.68), Sonae (1.27% to €1.40), Jerónimo Martins (1.26% to €21.98), Galp (0.79% to €17.60), CTT (0.28% to €7.11) and Navigator (0.20% to €3.01).

In the opposite direction, the rises were led by EDP, which advanced 0.93% to €4.36, and BCP, which rose 0.84% to €0.77.

REN (0.76% to €3.32), Semapa (0.45% to €17.92), Altri (0.20% to €4.89) and EDP Renováveis (0.08% to €12.95) also rose in today's session.

The main European markets closed flat today, with London advancing 0.14% and Milan rising 0.09%. Paris and Frankfurt fell 0.52% and 0.76% respectively. The Madrid stock exchange closed unchanged.
