According to him, in the period January-October 2025, 85% of visitors were foreigners and 15% domestic.
Tourists also show a special interest in the city's museums, where they learn about the history and cultural heritage of Berat, but not only.
"The number of visitors to the city's museums has reached 94,204 visitors", said Çepele.
However, domestic and foreign tourists who visit Berat, in addition to historical tourism, are also showing interest in natural and adventure tourism.
“If we go outside the city center, there are tourist villages, with developed agrotourism, Mount Tomor, Bogova waterfall, Osumi canyons, etc.”, said Çepele.
Tourists no longer stop for just one day to enjoy its beauties, but stay for days. The expansion of tourist packages beyond the city, including villages with natural values and agrotourism, has significantly increased their time of stay.

The number of hotels has increased by about 40–45% compared to 2024, reflecting the growing demand for stays in the museum-city and surrounding areas.
"In 2024, we had 1 million visitors, with a 35% increase compared to 2023. In 2025, we have 300 accommodation structures, hotels, guesthouses or 25% more than in 2023", Çepele emphasized.
