HINA - Businesses from 10 cities generate 65.6% of Croatia's total business revenue

ZAGREB, 1 Nov (Hina) - Businesses from Croatia's ten top cities generated €111.4 billion in revenue last year, accounting for 65.6% of the country’s total, with Zagreb leading at €83.9 billion, the financial Agency (Fina) reported.

In 2024, 82,946 businesses in these cities (Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Velika Gorica, Osijek, Varaždin, Sveta Nedelja, Vukovar, Zadar, Karlovac) employed 584,706 people, representing 55% of Croatia's workforce.

The ten cities contributed 66.5% of total profits (€8.4 billion) and 62.4% of losses (€1.7 billion). After Zagreb, Split (€5.4 billion) and Rijeka (€4.4 billion) ranked next in total revenue. Key contributors included Ina in Zagreb, Tommy in Split, Plodine in Rijeka, Lidl in Velika Gorica, Žito in Osijek, Vindija in Varaždin, Medical Intertrade in Sveta Nedelja, PPD in Vukovar, Cromaris in Zadar, and PPK Karlovačka mesna industrija in Karlovac.
