TIRANA, Oct 31 /ATA/ The Mediterranean Exchange of Archaeological Tourism has officially commenced in Paestum, Italy.
Recognized as one of the most significant international events integrating archaeology, tourism, and modern technology, it marks Albania’s first participation, represented by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports, in partnership with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) Tirana.
In this 27th edition of the event, Albania is presenting the project of the National Archaeological Park of Byllis.
The Mediterranean Exchange of Archaeological Tourism (BMTA) is the only event in the world dedicated exclusively to archaeological tourism, bringing together experts, institutions, tour operators, and companies to share ideas, projects, and new partnerships, as well as to create business opportunities for industry professionals.
The event is promoted by the Campania region and the Archaeological Parks of Paestum and Velia.
Its objective is to improve archaeological parks and museums, promote archaeological tourism destinations, encourage marketing initiatives, extend the tourist season, and increase economic opportunities and employment effects.
Special attention is devoted to the use of innovative technologies to create a more immersive experience in archaeology and museology. Through the *ArcheoVirtual* program, the Mediterranean Exchange of Archaeological Tourism will also showcase multimedia exhibitions and digital solutions that are transforming the way we experience cultural heritage.
