Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stocks close more than 1% higher to close market at 8,340.83 points

Lisbon, Oct. 16, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Thursday, with the PSI index rising 1.08% to 8,340.83 points, boosted by gains of over 4% from EDP Renováveis (EDPR) and Teixeira Duarte.

The PSI benchmark index thus recorded its fourth consecutive session of gains, returning to 2010 highs.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the PSI, eight rose, seven fell and one, Ibersol, remained unchanged at €10.1.

Leading the gains was Teixeira Duarte, which added 5.71% to €0.78, followed by EDP Renováveis, which rose 4.54% to €13.82, and parent company EDP, which advanced 1.55% to €4.40.

Also noteworthy were Mota-Engil, which rose 1.13% to €5.82, Jerónimo Martins, which gained 0.78% to €20.74, and BCP, which rose 0.47% to €0.76.

Among the fallers were Semapa, which fell 1.43% to €17.98, Navigator, which lost 0.52% to €3.09, and Galp Energia, which fell 0.28% to €15.91.

In the rest of Europe, Paris rose 1.38%, while London added 0.12%, Frankfurt 0.38% and Madrid 0.48%.
