TIRANA, September 24/ATA/ The exports of the group of minerals and fuels marked a significant increase of 37.3% during the 8-month period of the current year if compared to the same period last year.

In value, the exports reached 75.7 billion lekë, compared to 55.2 billion lekë recorded in the period January-September 2024.

According to the latest data from the Institute of Statistics, the largest amount of exports of this group had Kosovo as its destination. Exports of minerals and fuels to Kosovo during the period January-August reached 34.7 billion lekë.

However, even though Albania is country rich in minerals, the added value created by these exports remains low. This is because we do not yet have a closed-cycle economy, where minerals are extracted, processed and then exported. /j.p/p.s./
