Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes down led by 2% fall in Galp

Lisbon, Sept. 17, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed in the red on Wednesday, with the PSI index falling 0.10% to 7,729.87 points, penalised by a 2% drop in Galp Energia.

The 15 companies that are included in the national benchmark index, six fell, seven rose, and two remained unchanged, Corticeira Amorim (€7.49) and Ibersol (€10.1).

Leading the declines was Galp Energia, which fell 2.13% to €15.86, followed by NOS, which lost 1.16% to €3.85, and REN, which fell 0.85% to €2.93.

Also noteworthy was BCP, which lost 0.36% to €0.71.

On the gains side, Mota-Engil stood out, rising 1.47% to €5.16, as did the EDP family: subsidiary EDP Renováveis gained 0.87% to €9.90, while parent company EDP advanced 0.60% to €3.86.

Elsewhere in Europe, the day was mixed. Paris fell 0.40% and Madrid 0.24%, while Frankfurt rose 0.13% and London 0.14%.
