Istat said Friday that, for the first time, more than 10 million over 50s were in employment in Italy in the second quarter of 2025, another sign of how the Italian population is aging.
    The national statistics said 10.094 million over-50s were in work here, up by 96,000 with respect to the first quarter and by 422,000 on the April-June period in 2024.
    It said the number of over-50s in employment was less than half this level in 2004 at 4.865 million.
