ATA - Montenegrin collection of 19th–20th century books and maps depicting Albania on display at National Library

TIRANA, Sept 11 /ATA/ An exhibition featuring old books, maps, and postcards depicting Albania in the 19th and 20th centuries was inaugurated at the National Library premises. The collection was provided by the National Library of Montenegro, "Durde Crnojevic."

Among the works featured are “Guide to Albania” in French (Paris, 1930), “The Albanian Language” in German (Frankfurt, 1835), “Four Months in Albania” in German (Berlin, 1916), and many others.

The exhibition is further enriched with numerous postcards, including notable works by the master of Albanian photography, Marubi, as well as a military map of Shkodra produced in Vienna in 1881.
The exhibition was opened as part of Montenegrin Cultural Week, curated by Daniela Radulovic. In attendance were the Director of the National Library of Albania, Piro Misha, and the Director of the National Library of Montenegro, Dragica Lompar.

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the two cultural institutions, aiming to enhance professional cooperation, facilitate the exchange of relevant materials and experts, and support the implementation of joint cultural projects.
The exhibition will stay on display through tomorrow as well.
