Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Most stocks trading in the green buoyed by retailers

Lisbon, Sept. 1, 2025 (Lusa) - The Portuguese stock exchange was gaining 0.41% on Monday morning to 7,791.17 points, with the majority of shares in the green, boosted by the 1% gains of retailers Jerónimo Martins and Sonae.

About an hour after opening, of the 15 stocks that make up the main index on the Portuguese stock exchange, the PSI, only Galp Energia was down to €16.54, while two stocks (EDP Renováveis and REN) remained unchanged and the rest were in positive territory.

Leading the gains was Sonae, which rose 1.56% to €1.30, followed by Mota-Engil, which gained 1.09% to €5.11 and Jerónimo Martins, which advanced 1.04% to €21.36.Also noteworthy were BCP, which added 0.69% to €7.60, and EDP, which rose 0.29% to €3.80.

 The subsi diary EDP Renováveis remained unchanged at €10.04.

In Europe, the day also got off to a positive start, with Madrid up 0.12% and Frankfurt 0.53%, while Paris gained 0.38% and the London stock exchange rose 0.34%.
