TIRANA, Aug 10 /ATA/ - Albanian farmers operating agricultural or livestock farms can now receive grants covering up to 50% of costs for mechanisation and modernisation under the 2025 National Investment Scheme, Agriculture Minister Anila Denaj said on Saturday.

The programme aims to cut production costs and time, improve efficiency and product quality, and boost farmers’ competitiveness, Denaj said.

The scheme provides funding of up to 50% of the total value of tax invoices, capped at 5 million leks per beneficiary.

Farmers can combine the grant with soft loans at a 2% interest rate and a state guarantee covering 70% of collateral requirements, she added. Applications are open until Sept. 30, 2025.

The 2025 scheme includes nine support measures to promote investment in agriculture, paving the way for a more modern, productive and competitive sector.
