ANA-MPA - Ios, the pleasant surprise of 2025

Ios, with its contrasts and many faces, is being highlighted by international media as the pleasant surprise of 2025.
As part of a coordinated campaign by the Municipality of  Ios, new travel experiences are being promoted both in Greece and abroad. Ios has earned the title of the most refined Greek destination of the year and has been included in the Times' annual list of the 15 best Greek islands. The article noted that "Ios may have a reputation as a party destination, but it’s now common and easy for travellers to skip the late-night revelry in favour of more sophisticated experiences."
In a recent feature dedicated exclusively to the Cycladic island of Homer, the British newspaper Express stated : "If you take the best of Mykonos and Santorini and create a new island, that would be Ios," adding that the island boasts countless stunning beaches to suit every taste, and it uniquely combines in the Aegean both lively nightlife and ancient monuments, world-class cultural museums, refined restaurants, and charming tavernas. Another big surprise is that this beautiful island is home to Homer’s tomb and the impressive prehistoric settlement of Skarkos.
Furthermore, Ios is listed among the destinations that revive the authentic spirit of the Cyclades, according to Vagabond, the most popular media outlet in Scandinavia. The publication described it as:  "Thirty-two kilometres of dreamy coastline with sandy beaches like pure gold and turquoise-blue waters".
The growing traveller interest in Ios' new offerings was highlighted by Antonis Mettos, President of the Tourism Committee of the Municipality of Ios, who stated: "The contrast and diversity give our island a unique identity. The new Gaitis-Simosi Museum, the historical landmarks, distinctive gastronomy, wide range of tourism services for every need and budget, exotic beaches with turquoise waters, hiking, diving, cycling, boat excursions, and vibrant nightlife create dozens of combinations for both extended vacations and short getaways, during both high and low seasons."
