International air arrivals increased by 5.7% in the period January-June 2025, according to data from the Institute of the Greek Tourism Confederation (INSETE).
Specifically, 10.3 million arrivals were recorded, representing an increase of 556,000 compared to the same period in 2024. In particular, 4 million arrivals were recorded in June, representing an increase of 206,000 (5.4%) compared to June 2024.
Most international air arrivals were recorded in Crete, with 1.9 million passengers, an increase of 86,000 (4.7%) compared to the same period in 2024. This region was followed by the Dodecanese, with 1.5 million arrivals (19,000, or 1.3%), and the Ionian Islands, with 1.3 million passengers, representing an increase of 59,000 (4.9%).
On January-May 2025, travel receipts recorded an increase of 12.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2024 and amounted to 4,352 million euros. This development is due both to the increase in receipts from residents of European Union countries by 10.9%, amounting to 2,327 million euros, and to the increase in receipts from residents of other countries by 15.1%, amounting to 1,813 million euros.
