Praia, July 24, 2025 (Lusa) - The Statec Business Sector (SBS) of Cabo Verde “achieved positive results of 277 million escudos” (€2.5 million) in 2023, the government announced on Thursday.

The Ministry of Finance of Cabo Verde released on Wednesday the Annual Performance Report of the 33 state-owned companies, in a year “in which Cabo Verde’s economy grew 5.5%, driven by tourism,” it said.

The government also reported that the trend has been one of recovery: state-owned companies had losses of 4.23 billion escudos in 2021.

On the other hand, “the SBS’s risk profile showed a favourable evolution in 2023,” it added.

The government also announced the launch of a digital portal with public accounts to promote transparency.
