Lisbon, July 22, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed Tuesday's session on a positive note, with gains of almost 1%, driven by energy-related stocks, with EDP Renováveis leading the gains, rising 3.74%.
Of the 15 listed companies that make up the PSI, eight closed in positive territory, Semapa ended unchanged, and the remaining six ended lower. The PSI closed up 0.97% at 7,746.21 points.
Leading the gains on the national benchmark index was EDP Renováveis, whose shares rose 3.74% to €10.55. The parent company advanced 2.55% to €3.91.
Also in the energy sector, REN added 2.68% to €3.26, while oil company Galp rose 1.46% to €16.38.
Ibersol also posted gains of over 1%, with its shares rising 1.25% to €9.72.
NOS stood out by moving against the trend and securing a more modest performance on the PSI, with its shares adjusting by 6.01% to €3.52, a day after reporting its results to the market.
On Monday, NOS announced that profits in the first half of the year decreased by 21.2% compared to the same period last year, to €116.8 million, due to capital gains in 2024.
The group led by Miguel Almeida explained that, “excluding extraordinary effects, net profit grew 18.3% to €112.5 million”.
Also among the declines were CTT, which fell 0.40% to €7.54, and Jerónimo Martins, which fell 0.36% to €21.84.
The rest of the European markets had a mixed day: the British FTSE 100 rose 0.12%, while the Spanish IBEX-35 advanced 0.07%. In contrast, the German DAX declined by 1.09% and the French CAC-40 decreased by 0.69%.
