HINA - Preparations underway for Croatia’s appearance at International Green Week 2026

ZAGREB, 21 July (Hina) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries David Vlajčić has held a working meeting with representatives of the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) to begin preparations for Croatia’s participation in International Green Week 2026 in Berlin, the Ministry reported.

The meeting focused on organising and coordinating a joint appearance by Croatian exhibitors, with the aim of delivering a strong and recognisable presentation of Croatia’s agriculture and food industry, as well as promoting traditional products on the international stage. Vlajčić emphasised the importance of a strategic approach and consistent Croatian presence at such events.

"International Green Week in Berlin offers an outstanding opportunity to showcase the potential of Croatian agriculture and the food industry, while supporting our producers in accessing foreign markets," he said.

The Ministry of Agriculture, he added, supports such initiatives as they contribute to boosting exports, building new business connections, and enhancing the reputation of Croatian products abroad. The minister also noted strong interest from producers in taking part in the fair, particularly in light of its centenary, which will be marked in 2026.

HGK President Luka Burilović highlighted the fair’s long-standing tradition and its value as an opportunity for Croatia’s agricultural and food sector representatives to present their work to an international audience across a 200-square-metre exhibition space.

"Croatia achieved outstanding success as a partner country in 2020, and we are preparing for 2026 with the same ambition, to showcase the best of Croatian production and include exhibitors from across the country,” Burilović said.

Croatia is planning a high-profile, content-rich presentation in 2026, featuring highlights from its agriculture and food industries, with particular emphasis on quality, tradition, and the innovations Croatian producers bring to the modern market, the Ministry said in a statement.

The fair will take place in Berlin from 16 to 25 January 2026. It is one of the world’s leading trade fairs for agriculture, the food industry, and rural development. Since 1926, it has brought together key players in the sector from around the globe. This year’s edition featured over 1,400 exhibitors from 53 countries and attracted more than one million visitors.
