ZAGREB, 2 July (Hina) - Two more Croatian restaurants have been awarded Michelin stars in the latest edition of the world-renowned Michelin Guide, bringing the total in Croatia to 13. Twelve restaurants now hold one star, and one has retained two stars, said the Croatian National Tourist Board, Michelin's main partner in Croatia.
The newly awarded one-star restaurants are Krug in Split and Cap Aureo in Rovinj. Agli Amici in Rovinj remains the only restaurant in Croatia with two Michelin stars.
The restaurants that retained their one-star status are Dubravkin put (Zagreb), Pelegrini (Šibenik), 360º (Dubrovnik), Monte (Rovinj), Noel (Zagreb), Boškinac (Novalja), LD Restaurant (Korčula), Nebo (Rijeka), Alfred Keller (Mali Lošinj), and Korak (Jastrebarsko).
Tourism and Sports Minister Tonči Glavina said that the new Michelin Guide confirms the quality of Croatian gastronomy and the excellence of Croatian chefs, who continue to earn international recognition.
In addition to stars, the Green Star designation, which highlights restaurants dedicated to sustainability and eco-friendly practices, was retained by Zinfandel's in Zagreb, Konoba Mate in Korčula, and Korak in Jastrebarsko.
Michelin's Bib Gourmand list, which features restaurants offering high-quality menus at reasonable prices, was expanded this year to include Konoba Pescaria in Mošćenička Draga and K.užina in Split. There are now 12 Bib Gourmand restaurants in Croatia.
Michelin also introduced special awards this year for excellence in various hospitality roles. Gabriela Filca of Nebo received the Young Chef Award, Vera Korak of Korak was recognised for Outstanding Service, and Dinko Lozica of LD Restaurant received the Sommelier Award.
