Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes with PSI off 0.38% penalised by Semapa

Lisbon, June 9, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Monday, falling 0.38% to 7,425.75 points, penalised by Semapa, which fell 7.73%.

Of the 15 companies included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), 11 fell, three ended the session up and Ibersol closed unchanged at €9.90.

In a session in which listed companies in the paper sector saw their shares lose value, the losses were led by Semapa, which fell 7.73% to €16.24. The company attributed the decrease mainly to the dividend effect as its shares closed today without the right to receive the €0.63 dividend. Altri fell 3.03% to €5.12 and Navigator fell 1.65% to €3.34.

The day also saw losses for REN, which fell 1.34% to €2.94, Mota-Engil, which fell 1.18% to €4.34 and NOS, which lost 1.03% to €3.85.

With falls of less than 1% were the shares of Sonae (-0.98% to €1.21), Jerónimo Martins (-0.93% to €21.24), Corticeira Amorim (-0.88% to €7.89), CTT (-0.40% to €7.55) and Galp (-0.13% to €15.28).

Conversely, EDP Renováveis saw its shares rise 1.36% to €9.28, while BCP and EDP recorded increases of 1.04% to €0.68 and 0.43% to €3.54, respectively, on the back of broker upgrades.

In the rest of Europe, only Madrid closed above the waterline, gaining 0.03%. The other markets closed lower, with Frankfurt down 0.54%, Paris 0.17% and London 0.06%.
