HINA - Croatians subscribe for €1.33 bn worth of T-bills

ZAGREB, 4 June (Hina) - During the latest treasury bills subscription, a total of 1.33 billion euros worth of treasury bills were subscribed, while the targeted nominal amount was €750 million, the Finance Ministry stated.

In the offer for Croatian citizens, which lasted from 26 May to 2 June, individual investors subscribed to €809.98 million.

During the offer intended for institutional investors, €523.66 million were subscribed.

The targeted nominal amount was 750 million euros, and investments could be made in treasury bills with a maturity of 364 days, offering an annual yield of 2.6 percent.

The issue date for the T-bills is 5 June, with maturity on 4 June 2026.

Treasury bills could be subscribed to at FINA branches, via the digital e-riznica platform, as well as through the Ministry of Finance’s new m-riznica app.

The minimum subscription amount per investor is €1,000 euros, although treasury bills are purchased at a discount, so the actual minimum investment amount is €974.73 euros.

Citizens will receive one thousand euros per bond at maturity, which means that on a single treasury bill, given the 2.6 percent yield, they can earn 25.27 euros.

This issuance of treasury bills also offered the option of reinvestment for holders of treasury bills subscribed to in June 2024.

In just over two years, this was the 14th issuance of government securities available for purchase by citizens, of which 11 were issues of treasury bills.
