TAP - Tunisia and Mauritania sign framework cooperation agreement in tourism training field

Tunis, May 8 (TAP) – A framework cooperation agreement in the field of tourism training was signed on May 7, between the Tourism Vocational Training Agency (AFMT) and the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Mauritania, the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts said on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed during a meeting between Tourism Minister Sofiane Tekaya, and Mauritanian Minister of Trade and Tourism, Zeinebou Mint Ahmednah, on the sidelines of the 8th session of the International Forum on Investment and Trade Financing in Africa (FITA 2025), held in Tunis on May 6 and 7.

The agreement aims to support the exchange of expertise and experiences in tourism training, develop joint education and training programmes, and organize workshops and training sessions for trainers and trainees.

It also seeks to improve the quality of training in tourism-related professions to meet market demands, support institutional cooperation between relevant bodies, as well as promote sustainable partnerships in the tourism sector.

The agreement was signed by Ahmed Djemal, Director General of AFMT, and Mohamed Zine El Abidine Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Director General of the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Mauritania.
