TIRANA, May 7/ATA/ On occasion of the 620th anniversary of birth of Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg, there have been held a series of cultural activities throughout the country.
Thus, the National Library commemorated our national hero, Skanderbeg, through a special and colorful exhibition of stamps with the image of Skanderbeg.
The collection exhibited on this occasion is part of the private collection of philatelist Hysen Dizdari. It contains Albanian postage stamps from 1913 to the present day, issued in honor of our National Hero.
With the participation of the most prominent philatelists of our country, researchers, historians and young people from Maarif Tirana Campus, the exhibition turned attention not only to our national hero, but also to other important national figures with a wide presence on our postage stamps.
The Municipality of Lezha was also included in the activities on this occasion.
To mark this day, baptized as “Arbëria light-dawn”, the young people were not only acquainted with the history, but also performed artistically wearing national costumes.
This commemorative activity, in honor of Skanderbeg, was held under the auspices of the Municipality of Lezha and Directorate of Culture and Cultural Heritage, at the Memorial of the National Hero. The novelty of this activity was the participation of students from the University of Shkodra and students from various schools in the city. /j.p/p.s./
