ATA - Survey on safety and trust in State Police: 82% of respondents feel “safe” or “very safe”

TIRANA, January 31/ATA/ The Ministry of Interior presented today the survey funded by the Swedish government, to measure citizen perception on the level of security in our country and trust in the State Police.

This completely independent survey is being conducted for the sixth time at the initiative and under the supervision of the Swedish government. The survey aims to measure the level of satisfaction of the people with the work of the State Police.

The methodology used for this survey is based on the “European Social Survey”, allowing for comparisons with other countries.

Auron Pasha, Founder and Executive Director of “IDRA Research & Consulting”, said in his speech that, “This is a national survey of 1900 adults aged 18 and older. This survey gives us the opportunity to make comparisons both in years and between different countries. The survey was conducted in the period October-November last year”.

While presenting the results related to the sense of security that citizens have, to the question how safe they feel when walking alone in their neighborhood after dark, Pasha said that, “82% of respondents said they feel “safe” or “very safe” in the neighborhood at night. If we make a comparison with 2013, we see an increasing trend in this sense of security. Regarding the question of how satisfied the people are with the State Police, Pasha said that, “65% of respondents said that the State Police is doing a good or very good job, 27% are neutral and 8% evaluate it poorly”. /k.s/p.s./
