ANA-MPA - METLEN invests in new RES projects in Italy

METLEN Energy & Metals announced on Monday the expansion of its activity in Italy by securing financing of 67.9 million euros for the construction of 71.5 MW through five large-scale photovoltaic parks, which will be installed in strategic areas such as Emilia Romagna, Lazio, Campania and Puglia, with their completion expected in 2025.

These projects are estimated to produce approximately 135 GWh of clean energy per year, covering the energy needs of over 55,000 Italian households and contributing to the avoidance of 65,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

These projects, as announced by the company, are part of METLEN's broader development strategy, which seeks to develop a total of over 1.7 GW of solar energy and 300 MWs of battery energy storage systems (BESS) by 2028, making the company one of the largest independent energy producers in the region.

The financing for the development of these projects was secured through Piraeus and is an important step for METLEN in Italy, strengthening its strategic commitment to the country's energy transition.

METLEN is active in various regions of Italy, such as Sicilia, Sardegna, Calabria, Campania, Veneto, Lazio, Emilia-Romagna and Abruzzo, with a portfolio of 180 projects with a total capacity of 3.59 GW for the next four years.
