ZAGREB, 16 Jan (Hina) - Cyber incidents such as ransomware attacks, data breaches and IT outages is the top global risk for 2025, marking its fourth consecutive year at the top., according to the latest edition of Allianz Risk Barometer 2025
"Companies identify cyber-attacks, especially data breaches, as their top business concern for the year ahead (38% of overall responses)," says Allianz.
Business interruption, natural disasters...
Business interruption remains #2 (31%). Natural catastrophes ranks #3, while the closely interlinked peril climate change is the biggest riser compared to 2024, moving from #7 to #5, according to the barometer.
After another heavy year of natural catastrophes activity in 2024 this peril remains third most worrisome issue.
The biggest riser in this year’s Allianz Risk Barometer is Climate change, from #7 to #5, achieving its highest-ever position in 14 years of the survey.
Geopolitical turmoil, impact of government and regulatory change, and fear of trade wars remain high on the business agenda.
"Around the world, natural catastrophes is the #1 risk in Austria, Croatia, Greece, Hong Kong, Japan, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey, many of which sustained some of the most significant events of 2024. In Central and Eastern Europe, as well as in Spain, floods had a dramatic impact on people and businesses, while Japan faced a M7.5 earthquake in the Noto Peninsula."
In Croatia, cyber attacks rank second on the rankings of most concerning perils.
Allianz Risk Barometer tracks the most important corporate concerns for the year ahead, as voted for by a record 3,778 risk management experts from 106 countries and territories.
