Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stocks close day's trading 0.55% higher

Lisbon, Jan. 16, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market ended Thursday's session on a high, with the PSI index rising 0.55% to 6,494.27 points, following the gains of most European markets.

Of the 15 listed companies that make up the PSI, 10 were up, three were down and two were unchanged.

Mota-Engil and CTT led the risers with gains of 1.70% and were worth €2.86 and €5.39 respectively.

BCP rose 1.29% to €0.49, EDP Renováveis 1.12% to €9.49 and Sonae % to €0.91.

NOS advanced 0.76% to €3.34 and Ibersol added 0.52% to €7.68.

Gaining less than 0.50% were Navigator (€3.51), REN (€2.33) and Galp (€17.09).

Corticeira Amorim (€8.07) and Jerónimo Martins (€18.50) ended unchanged.

On the downside, Altri fell 0.85% to €5.25, Semapa lost 0.70% to €14.28 and EDP fell 0.64% to €3.11.

In the rest of Europe, Paris rose 2.14%, London 1.09%, Milan 0.48% and Frankfurt 0.39%, with the Madrid stock exchange losing 0.49% dragged down by the banking sector.
