TIRANA, January 10 /ATA/ Three months after the floods caused by heavy rainfall in the city of Vlora, the Albanian government has compensated the affected families.

Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu wrote in the social media that 66 million lekë will go soon to 375 families affected by the floods.

“Promise given, promise kept! The Albanian government supports the residents affected by the floods of October 4, 2024 in Vlora,” wrote Vengu.

The minister emphasized that 335 household appliances have already been distributed to the affected families.

The financial compensation, Vengu wrote further on, is covered by the conditional fund of the Civil Protection budget, administered by the National Civil Protection Agency.

"Since December, residents of the 5 regions and 2 affected municipal units are being compensated in record time, based on verifications by Civil Protection teams, the Territorial Protection Inspectorate and regional heads," emphasized Minister Vengu. /r.e//a.f/p.s./
