ATA - Development of state properties, Kokona: Investment return of 25-35%

TIRANA, January 9/ATA/ At the presentation meeting of the “Building bridges towards Albania 2030” program, focusing on the development of public properties through partnerships and private and state entrepreneurship, the Albanian Investment Corporation CEO Elira Kokona said that after a year of intensive work, there are results that give us confidence to move forward with a clear vision and concrete projects.

“So far, we have identified properties; we have designed investment projects with a high return of 25-35% even in the most pessimistic scenarios and this has been positively assessed by the international experts. We have selected architectural projects through public competitions; we have secured the approval of development permits from the National Council of Territoriality so that to enable our proposals to be concrete and related to concrete business opportunities.

Now, through international public competitions we offer investment opportunities in Albania, without bureaucracy, but with transparency and a clear competitive process. These projects are a real business opportunity, which not only offers profits for entrepreneurs, but also contributes to a public benefit that will stand the test of time, directly influencing a social opportunity that will stand the test of time”, said Kokona.

According to her, “The examples of EU countries, Italy, Spain, Austria, give us the opportunity to learn and follow the best models so that we do not reinvent the wheel, but rather offer a good and real opportunity for businesses and entrepreneurship.

The property for public development will only be 100% with a public function, while the property for development for entrepreneurship will be managed by private business, emphasized Kokona.

She added that the network of Albanian ambassadors around the world, who are working to attract the Diaspora investors to projects in Albania, also plays a role in this process. “But, this is not enough without the support of foreign embassies accredited to Albania. We are confident that the good news about doing business in Albania will spread rapidly like other news from foreign embassies accredited to our country. We are ready for the announced projects like revival of the Palace of Brigades, the Palace of Congresses, the “Asllan Rusi” Sports Palace and many other state assets that need a new development. An important role in this process is played by the banks, but also by private owners around the properties that will be developed by Albanian Investment Corporation. The relations between the public and the private are like those bridges that require time and joint effort”, added Kokona. /a.f/r.e/p.s./
