The Spanish News Agency EFE and the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) have renewed a collaboration agreement for the dissemination of content on Ibero-America, signed for the first time in 2019.
At the Agency's headquarters in Madrid, the president of EFE, Miguel Ángel Oliver, and the secretary general of the OEI, Mariano Jabonero, signed the renewal of the agreement whose aim is to promote and spread journalistic information of interest to Ibero-America, the region in which the OEI has been active for 75 years.
The agreement also seeks to create awareness and worldwide recognition of the value of the Ibero-American space, especially in the fields of education, science, culture, human rights and languages through the international dissemination of EFE's information and the cooperation projects carried out by the OEI.
EFE has collaborated in the dissemination of important activities for the organisation, such as the last edition of the International Conference of Portuguese and Spanish Languages (CILPE) in Asunción (Paraguay) in 2023, or the celebration of the XIV General Assembly of the OEI held in the Dominican Republic in 2022.
The Organisation of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) is an organisation for multilateral cooperation between Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking Ibero-American countries, with more than 3,900 people working for Ibero-America, physically distributed among 20 countries in the region, according to the organisation itself.
