Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Mota-Engil accumulates losses on stock market

Lisbon, Spt. 4, 2024 (Lusa) - Mota-Engil continues to accumulate losses on the stock exchange and this morning was already down by around 10%, after the company hit all-time highs in March.

At 09:35, Mota-Engil's shares were quoted at €2.76, a fall of more than 50% compared to the March high of €5.81.

On 28 August, the construction company closed the stock market session with a similar drop, after releasing half-year results that didn't seem to meet market expectations.

The company made €49 million in profit in the first half of the year, a rise of 65% compared to the first half of 2023.

According to a note released by the construction company to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), the level of the group's order book allows it to "reinforce its conviction in the fulfilment" of its objectives for 2024 and to continue a "virtuous cycle of sustainable growth".
