Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market green in early trading on Tuesday

Lisbon, Sept. 3, 2024 (Lusa) - The Portuguese stock market was trading slightly up this Tuesday morning, rising 0.18% to 6,785.79 points, following the European trend.

At 08:49, nine shares were in the green, four were down and three were unchanged (Navigator at €3.72, Ibersol at €7.20 and Altri at €4.92).

Jerónimo Martins was leading the risers, up 1.08% to €16.84, followed by Semapa, whose shares rose 0.70% to €14.48. CTT rose 0.67% to €4.47 and BCP advanced 0.57% to €0.42.

Still in the green were Sonae (0.53% to €0.95), EDP Renováveis (0.49% to €14.47), EDP (0.47% to €3.38), NOS (0.42% to €3.56) and REN (0.21% to €2.38).

Declining were Galp, down 1.01% to €18.62, Greenvolt, down 0.54% to €8.31, Corticeira Amorim, down 0.44% to €9, and Mota-Engil, down 0.19% to €3.07.

This morning, Mota-Engil announced an increase of US$576 million (€521 million) in its order book for the Mozambican market, following the alteration and extension of the mining contract in Moatize, Tete province.

The European stock markets opened in the ‘green’ today, recovering slightly from a more indefinite session, on a day when the New York stock market, which was closed on Monday, returns.

At 08:25 Lisbon time, London was up 0.17%, Paris was up 0.19% and Frankfurt was up 0.26%. In the same vein, Madrid showed an enhancement of 0.21% and Milan 0.19%.

The euro was quoted this morning at US$ 1.1062, slightly weaker than on Monday.
