Lisbon, July 30, 2024 (Lusa) - In the first half of this year, Energias de Portugal (EDP) recorded net profits attributable to shareholders of €762 million, a year-on-year increase of 75%, the company said in a statement to Portugal's Securities Markets Commission (CMVM).

Profits, which in recurring terms increased by 50% to €775 million, were supported "by the good result of gains from the rotation of electricity transmission assets in Brazil and wind and solar energy production assets in Italy, the USA and Canada," it said.

According to EDP, "excluding asset rotation gains, recurring net income rose 15 per cent to 591 million euros."
