Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes 0,06% lower with Mota-Engil losing more than 3%

Lisbon, July 2, 2024 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed down slightly today, with the PSI index falling 0.06% to 6,589.92 points, with Mota-Engil leading the falls and losing more than 3%.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the PSI, 10 fell, five rose and Ibersol remained unchanged (€6.84).

Mota-Engil fell 3.27% to €3.43 and, in the opposite direction, Galp rose 2.67% to €20.37.

The biggest fallers were Greenvolt, down 2.12% to €8.32, Navigator, down 1.50% to €3.81 and Jerónimo Martins, down 1.40% to €18.95.

REN (€2.27), Semapa (€14.48), EDP Renováveis (€13.20), Altri (€5.38), Sonae (€0.88) and EDP (€3.54) ended down less than 1%.

In addition to Galp, NOS, which rose 0.74% to €3.40, Corticeira Amorim, which added 0.55% to €9.11, CTT, which rose 0.36% to €4.23 and BCP, which gained 0.26% to €0.35, prevented the PSI from falling further.

The main European stock exchanges recorded declines, with the Madrid stock exchange standing out by losing 1.30%. Milan was down 0.70%, Frankfurt 0.69%, London 0.56% and Paris 0.30%.

In the eurozone, the fall in inflation of just one tenth in June, to 2.5%, didn't encourage investors about possible interest rate cuts.
