Aman Statement

AMAN calls for free coverage and safety of media people in Middle East.

AMAN calls for free coverage and safety of media people in Middle East.

The Alliance of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN) expresses its sorrow and concern over media reports about tragic incidents against journalists and media people in the war-torn area of Middle East.

There have been reports that a Reuters video journalist and Palestinian journalists were killed, journalists from AFP and Al Jazeera were wounded while the house of an Anadolu photojournalist has been bombed and members of his family were killed.

AMAN strongly condemns attacks on media people while doing their job in Israel, Gaza and South Lebanon and urgently calls upon all sides involved in this conflict to protect journalists, photoreporters and tv crews and facilitate them in reporting from conflict zones.

AMAN joins forces with other news agency alliances and media groups in protecting the free press coverage and the safety of journalists in war-torn areas.
