ZAGREB, 20 Feb(Hina)- This year's Croatian Language Month will take place from 21 February to 17 March, and the Institute of Croatian Language and Linguistics(IHJJ) will prepare a number of events and lectures and present its publications released over the past year.
According to the IHJJ, this is an event taking place between International Mother Language Day, which was declared by UNESCO in 1999, and which is celebrated on 21 February, and the day of the publication of the Declaration on the Name and Status of the Croatian Literary Language from 1967, which is marked on 17 March.
This year again, the Institute will organise a number of events, including an event marking the 50th death anniversary of linguist Blaž Jurišić on the island of Vrgada and a presentation of the book on the transcription and adaptation of Marko Marulić's Judita to the contemporary Croatian language, released by the IHJJ, in Slavonski Brod.
The Institute will also organise Open Days and a lecture of the Croatian language both at the location and online.
The IHJJ invites all speakers of the Croatian language to celebrate with it the Day of Croatian Glagolitic and Glagoliticism on 22 February, which was declared by the Croatian parliament on the proposal of the IHJJ in commemoration of the first book printed in Croatia, the Missale Romanum Glagolitice (Misal po zakonu rimskog dvora), from 1483.
