ANA/MPA - Aimilios Perdikaris becomes new president of ANA-MPA

Journalist Aimilios Perdikaris assumed his duties as the new president of Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) on Tuesday at an event on the national agency's premises in Athens. Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Thodoris Livanios thanked outgoing president Efthychis Pallikaris at an event that had limited attendance in observance of coronavirus pandemic measures. Minister Livanios noted that the government has a say in the institutional part of the agency but the president is responsible for all journalistic matters, and assured that the government will "exhaust all financial options for the technological upgrade of the agency." The new president said that ANA-MPA is "raw gold with great power which has not so far been developed in the right direction" and said the future lies in collaborative work with the entire work force and nobody to spare. "The mission is difficult but I believe we shall succeed. I can assure you I am here to listen to everyone, but I want work to be done and to be done well by all," he noted. Outgoing president Pallikaris spoke of a valuable and unique opportunity to have worked at the agency and said he learned three things about it during his tenure, namely, the great power and influence ANA-MPA has in Greek and international media; that mistakes are very costly for the agency; and that it is necessary to align the agency with the demands of the times.
