ANSA - F1: Still work to do says Antonelli after stretching lead with P2 in Malaysia

Italian talent is now 84 points ahead of his Mercedes team mate Russell

Italy's Kimi Antonelli says he's taking nothing for granted and his Mercedes team still has "a lot of work to do" after stretching his lead at the top of the Formula 1 drivers' standings by finishing second at Sunday's Grand Prix in Malaysia behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen "I think today was the maximum we could have done," he said.
"Massive congrats to Max and Red Bull for the incredible weekend.
"And on our side, a lot of work to do - we've been struggling a bit more than usual, but still really happy to come away with P2".
Antonelli is now 84 points clear of his team mate George Russell, who had to retire with an engine problem.
The 20-year-old, who is only in his second year in Formula 1, is bidding to become the sport's youngest-ever world champion and the first Italian to take the title since Alberto Ascari in 1953.
Ferrari's seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton pulled off an epic comeback to finish third having dropped to the back of the field because the team decided to start with race with soft tyres on a track that was still wet after heavy rain.
His Ferrari team mate Charles Leclerc came fourth.
