Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes 0.54% higher, bucking European trend

Lisbon, Sept. 24, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Thursday, with the PSI index up 0.54% to 9,684.67 points, bucking the broader European decline.

Of the 16 listed companies in the PSI, 11 rose, four fell, and Altri remained unchanged at €4.74.

Galp led the gains, rising 3.25% to €23.18.

Other notable gainers included Teixeira Duarte, which rose 2.69% to €0.50, and Mota-Engil, which gained 2.47% to €5.39.

Sonae SGPS (€2.10), EDP (€4.79), Corticeira Amorim (€7.09), NOS (€5.42), Ibersol (€10.02), REN (€3.53), Semapa (€20.80) and BCP (€1.19) rose by less than 1%.

Conversely, EDP Renováveis led the decliners, falling by 0.69% to €12.90.

Jerónimo Martins (€17.85), Navigator (€3.25) and CTT (€6.30) also posted gains of less than 1%.

Elsewhere in Europe, Frankfurt fell by 0.57%, Paris by 0.52%, Madrid by 0.30% and London by 0.24%.
