Lisbon, July 27, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Monday, falling by 1.01% to 9,122.03 points, bucking the trend of the major European markets, with Galp down 3.25%.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) seven rose, eight fell, and Mota-Engil remained unchanged at €4.62.
Galp was the biggest faller, closing at €19.38, on a day when the company announced that its profit had risen by 44% to €812 million in the first half of the year compared with the same period last year, driven by increased oil production in Brazil and the rise in the price of Brent crude. However, today's fall in oil prices on international markets weighed on the shares.

REN also closed lower (down 1.34% to €3.69), Sonae (down 0.98% to €2.03), CTT (down 0.42% to €5.90), BCP (down 0.33% to €1.07) and Altri (down 0.11% to €4.67).
