Lisbon, June 25, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Thursday, with the PSI index rising by 1.12% to 9,157.33 points and Teixeira Duarte climbing by more than 6%, in line with the rest of Europe.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the PSI, 12 rose, two fell, and BCP and Altri remained unchanged at €1.02 and €4.88, respectively.
Leading the gains was Teixeira Duarte, which rose 6.78% to €0.55.
Other notable gains included EDP Renováveis, which rose by 2.86% to €13.67; EDP, which gained 2.78% to €4.51; Mota-Engil, which rose by a further 1.92% to €4.78; REN, which rose by 1.91% to 3.73 euros, and Sonae SGPS, which rose by 1.73% to 2.06 euros.
Navigator (€3.42), Corticeira Amorim (€6.40), Semapa (€21.50), CTT (€5.91), Galp (€18.41) and Ibersol (€9.88) each rose less than 1%.
At the other end of the scale, Jerónimo Martins led the falls, dropping 0.63% to €17.39, followed by NOS, which fell 0.29% to €5.20.
Elsewhere in Europe, Frankfurt rose 1.03%, London 0.65%, Madrid 0.64% and Paris 0.55%.
On the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, Bayer rose by almost 19% to €47 after the US Supreme Court ruled that glyphosate no longer requires a carcinogenicity warning on its labels.
For Bayer, this US ruling should help reduce litigation relating to “the Roundup herbicide after almost a decade of legal battles”.
