Lisbon, June 24, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Wednesday, with the PSI falling by 0.88% to 9,055.89 points, Teixeira Duarte dropping by 2.64% and the EDP Group and Galp falling by more than 1%.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the national benchmark index, 11 ended the day in the red, three remained unchanged (Altri, Mota-Engil and Sonae SGPS) and just two were in positive territory.
Leading the falls was the construction firm Teixeira Duarte, which fell 2.64% to €0.52, followed by EDP Renewables, which dropped 1.92% to €13.29.
Elsewhere in the energy sector, EDP fell by 1.15% to €4.38, whilst Galp Energia lost 1.85% to €18.35.
Other stocks posting losses of more than 1% included BCP, which fell by 1.01% to €1.02; Ibersol SGPS, which fell by 1.50% to €9.85; Semapa, which fell by 1.38% to €21.4; and NOS, which fell by 1.23% to €5.22.
Meanwhile, Navigator lost 0.47% to €3.40, CTT fell 0.51% to €5.89 and Corticeira Amorim fell 0.93% to €6.36.
Conversely, only Jerónimo Martins and REN closed in the green, rising by 0.17% and 0.14%, respectively.
In the other major European markets, Spain’s IBEX-35 fell by 0.45% and Germany’s DAX lost 0.62%, whilst the UK’s FTSE 100 rose by 0.31% and France’s CAC-40 gained 0.54%.
