Lisbon, June 24, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market’s main index, the PSI, continued the trend seen at the opening and remained lower more than an hour after the market opened, on a day when European stock markets were trading without a clear direction.

At 09:20 in Lisbon, of the 16 listed companies, 10 were down, and three were up compared with the opening.

Meanwhile, Navigator, Jerónimo Martins and EDP Renováveis were trading at €3.42, €17.47 and €13.55 respectively.

The biggest fallers were led by Corticeira Amorim, which fell 0.93% to €6.36, followed by Mota-Engil, which lost 0.85% to €4.65, and CTT, which fell 0.84% to €5.87.

Also in the red were BCP (-0.77% to €1.03), Teixeira Duarte (-0.75% to €0.53), Semapa (-0.69% to €21.55) and NOS (-0.66% to €5.25).

The main European stock markets opened today without a clear direction, as developments in the technology sector and negotiations between the United States and Iran continue to shape the day.

The performance in Europe follows a less favourable day on Wall Street, where the technology index fell again, by around 2.21%. The S&P 500 fell by 1.44%, and the Dow Jones dropped by 0.09%.

The markets remain focused on the Middle East and the peace negotiations between the United States and Iran.

The potential resolution of this conflict, which has affected oil markets due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, is today driving the price of a barrel of Brent crude for August delivery down further, bringing it close to $76.

Meanwhile, Texas WTI is down 0.94% to $72.50.

The euro continues to weaken, trading at $1.135, whilst gold is down 0.56% to $4,087.11 and bitcoin is up 0.14% to $62,736.31.
