Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Lisbon stock market closes in the red, EDP Renewables slips by over 3%

Lisbon, June 23, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Tuesday, with the PSI benchmark index falling 0.34% to 9,136.73 points, following the trend on other European markets, as EDP Renewables led the falls.

Of the 16 companies that make up the national benchmark index, 10 closed lower, while the remaining six were in the green.

Leading the PSI’s losses was EDP Renewables, which fell 3.01% to €13.55, followed by Altri, which dropped 1.61% to €4.88.

Elsewhere in the pulp and paper sector, Navigator fell by 0.87% to €3.42, whilst Semapa lost 1.59% to €21.70.

Among the PSI’s ‘heavyweights’, in addition to EDP Renewables, BCP shares, which fell by 1.38% to €1.03, and EDP, which lost 0.31% to €4.43, also weighed on the Lisbon market.

Corticeira Amorim also recorded losses of over 1%, falling 1.23% to €6.42.

Conversely, and bucking the trend with more significant gains, were notably NOS, which rose by 1.54% to €5.28, and Jerónimo Martins, which advanced by 1.45% to €17.47.

Sonae SGPS also posted gains of over 1%, rising by 1.30% to €2.02.

In the other major European markets, the German DAX fell by 0.98%, the French CAC 40 by 0.71%, the Spanish IBEX 35 by 0.34%, and the British FTSE 100 by 0.09%.
