ALGIERS- Sidi Bel Abbes University ranked 849th among the world's top 1,000 higher education institutions in the latest "US News Best Global Universities" rankings, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced Tuesday in a statement.

The global rankings evaluated 2,250 institutions worldwide, featuring a total of nine Algerian universities. Alongside Sidi Bel Abbes University, the list includes Setif 1 University, Tlemcen University, the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB), Annaba University, Bejaia University, Boumerdes University, the University of Science and Technology Mohamed Boudiaf, and Biskra University.

The ministry's statement highlighted that Sidi Bel Abbes University secured first place nationally and 849th globally, "earning an honorable spot among the world’s top 1,000 universities."
