Vancouver, Canada, May 8, 2026 (Lusa) - Eight startups from Portugal specialising in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, energy and fintech join Web Summit Vancouver, Canada from 11 to 14 May, as a Startup Portugal (non-profit promoting entrepreneurship) initiative that aims to strengthen the country's technological presence in international markets.

Portugal’s delegation is attending the event at the Vancouver Convention Centre for the second consecutive year, meeting thousands of investors, tech firms and digital sector representatives from various countries.

"Web Summit Vancouver is a key opportunity to strengthen the presence of Portuguese startups in North America, allowing us to demonstrate the quality of our technology, talent and global scaling capacity," Startup Portugal's head, Alexandre Santos, said.

The Lisbon city council supports the participation, which includes firms focused on cybersecurity, sustainable energy, AI, logistics and digital financial solutions.

The organisation said the startups have raised more than €7 million in investment, employ about 70 professionals and operate in several international markets.

During the event, the companies will present products and services in dedicated areas, while the "Lisboa & Portugal Lounge" provides a meeting point for technology demonstrations and networking.

The agenda also features a masterclass titled "Meet the Portugal and Lisbon Entrepreneurial Ecosystems" on 13 May to promote Portugal as a destination for investment and startup development.

Portugal's delegation includes CYBERX, which specialises in ethical hacking and threat intelligence, ENLINE, focused on digital twins for power grids, and Nitrogen Sensing Solutions, which develops smart biosensors.

Other participants include JAMMIN’, a real-time music collaboration platform, ASSETLINK, focused on fractional alternative investments, AIVIS, specialising in operational automation with AI, and DAISEE, oriented toward document analysis and business decision support.

The representation also includes Vision Hammer, a company developing automated solutions to detect and fix engineering incidents directly in computer code.
